The first thing I did was cut rectangles of cardboard. I used the leftover scraps from when I made my cookbook magazine storage boxes :) I cut out 9 squares, one for each day of the week and an extra for Sunday and Saturday since we're home for lunch as well.

Then I placed a laminating sheet (you can find these at office stores) on a piece of scrapbook paper. I cut this into 9 rectangles that were just a little larger than the cardboard.

I glued the laminated paper to the cardboard. The cardboard serves as a sturdy backing so that the papers not flimsy and it's easier to write on.

This is why I cut the paper a little larger. You can't see the cardboard behind but it still has support.

Then I got a roll of magnetic strip and cut it into pieces and attached in the corners.

I had found these at the dollar store for only a buck.

I didn't like the way they looked so I printed the days and M E N U * on cardstock and attached them to the front of the dollar store magnets. I mod-podged them down, but suggest hot-gluing them because they didn't adhere well. I did add a layer of Mod-Podge on the top. It adds a little stability and a cleaner look.

My final product:

The great thing is the laminating surface is a GREAT dry erase surface. The ink just wipes off! And you can easily rearrange the menu if you decide you want a certain meal another day. For example, we ended up having chicken strips on Tuesday and steaks on Wednesday. I just moved the squares :) The M E N U and days magnets are great for when you want to stick recipes or reminders on the fridge too!
Ok, well have a great weekend everyone!

I came here the first time from the blog hop. Great site!
Nice! My husband is always wanting the menu plan for the week, and I'm always trying to avoid giving it to him because if I switch things up he gets confused. :) Now I won't have to worry about switching AND I won't have to constantly answer the question "What's for Dinner?" Great idea!

This is way cute. I just did something similar with a baking sheet. I love that it's easy to organize, yet easy to change too. And it looks amazing! Stopping by from Tatertots & Jello.

That turned out great! I love how you can just erase and rewrite for the next week.

Great idea and super cute! If I actually cooked and prepared meals, I'd be all over this one!
I do love me some organization, though, so I'm sure this could be adapted to other projects:) Great job!
That is such a clever idea! Even if you didn't make them dry erase, you could just put your favorite menu items on a bunch of them and mix them up for the entire month!
Thanks for linking up to Show and Tell Saturday!

I love this menu! I have a dry erase board I've been trying to use, but it isn't very inspiring given that the last menu written on it is from November... brilliant making it easy to swap meals!
What a great idea with the laminating so you can rewrite the menu each week. Thanks for linking up to Scrappy Saturdays!
